Yeah, I don’t love CoffeeScript either ;). It’s just an example of something that I think points in a direction worth pursuing (less clutter, more direct mapping).

I’m not against typed languages, they can have huge benefits. But I honestly can’t remember any problems in JS that types would have helped me to avoid. Maybe this is simply because I insist on thorough test suites — but then easing the pressure on people to write good tests by giving them types would not be a good move imho.
